This toolkit is designed for policymakers at the city level and includes a summary of potential policies and examples of those policies in action, evaluating the cost, feasibility, benefits, and impacts of each. Policies address charging infrastructure, multi-sector issues, freight, fleets, and consumers.
The policy toolkit for local government addresses multiple issues where local policies can make an impact: electrification plans, fleet transitions, charging infrastructure, and engaging with public utilities and state agencies.
(As of 9/1/2022): Kitsap County Community Development Department is developing revisions county code to encourage and require new development and applicable redevelopment to install facilities for bicycle parking and electric vehicle charging. The draft ordinance is available on the County’s website and is currently in the public outreach phase.
